VESSEL - A loophole in space
Rethinking the narrative arc for my Master’s project. I developed an endlessly looping VR micro-world where stories happen behind you, beside you, and all at once. By challenging the limits of traditional animation, I created an immersive ecosystem that cannot be captured in a single viewing, it demands that you step inside and explore.

Script Development
Starting from a blank framework, I spent several weeks developing character-driven narrative threads that evolved into spontaneous, unexpected plot moments. To balance this complexity, I structured the animation in 15-second intervals, providing the flexibility to add fluid interactions. This approach was particularly vital for pacing the alien’s arrival and transformation, ensuring the sequence remained subtle enough that the audience would not immediately grasp the underlying pattern during their first viewing.

Initial Character Design
To ensure each character was immediately recognizable without dialogue, I designed them as diverse, non-binary alien creatures with distinct shapes and identities. I found my most natural creative flow by stepping away from digital tools and the VR environment, instead sketching with pen and paper in a local park. This tactile, distraction-free approach allowed me to connect more deeply with the characters, creating unique personalities that invite the audience to choose a specific narrative path to follow during their first viewing.
